Small dogs have a disadvantage in that they do not weigh enough to keep the surfboard going in a straight line.

Can you imagine if the surfboard in Photo C had a weight on it?
Not only is the surf dog in danger but other dogs, owners, volunteers, spectators and rescue personnel would be in danger of being hit.
We hope future Surf Dog Competitions do not allow this sort of dangerous modification to a surfboard to be used in a competition.
Hopefully someone, sometime in the near future will develop a SAFE way to help smaller dogs surf safely!
