The SoCal Surfdogs have volunteered to help teach the new GromMUTTS how to surf at the Helen Woodward Animal Center's Surf Dog Clinics for years. We all noticed that the surfboards they use to teach the dog to surf were horrible. They were flat (no rocker) waterlogged and chewed up! We all felt hat it's not right for the HWAC to buy new surfboards as this would take sorely needed funds away from the work of the Animal Center. So.......... The SoCal Surf Dogs decided to have a surfboard drive to try to collect 10 new surfboards for the Surf Dog Clinics. Each donor who donated a surfboard would get a photo of their surfdog applied to the bottom of the donated surfboard. Needless to say, the SoCal Surf Dogs got behind this Idea and donate 13 awesome new WaveStorm Surfboards. On Saturday, June 29th., before the first Surf Dog Clinic of the year, the SoCal Surfdogs presented the new surfboards. Check them out....... On Saturday, June 29th at 9:30 am, before the first Surfdog clinic, the SoCal Surf Dogs Members donated 13 custom WaveStorm Surfboards to the Helen Woodward Animal Center. The old surfboards that were donated to them years ago were waterlogged and in terrible condition. These new surfboards will be used at all the up coming Surf Dog Clinics to teach new GroMutts how to surf! Each SoCal Surf Dog Member who donated a surfboard got a photo of their Surf Dog fixed to the bottom of the new surfboard to be enjoyed but 1000's over the next ten years. Checkout the slide show of all these awesome surfboards. Special thanks to Jim Hahn at Clairemont Signs for all his help to see this Idea come to life. We also want to thank Doug Hokstad for his tireless help in assembling all the boards. And of course we want to thank all the donors. THANK YOU!
