Favorite Beach: Dog Beach in Del Mar Favorite Dog Park: The same (Any day at the beach is a great day) Favorite Food: Turkey jerk treats Favorite Toy: Anything that Squeaks Rocky's Story: When Rocky first came home with us as a pup we already had a 120 lb. yellow lab named Einstein. They were inseparable and the best of buddies for the next six years until Einstein crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Einstein being a Lab loved the water but Rocky did not seem to have any interest until the summer of 2014. He started getting more comfortable and decided swimming was OK. So we decided to see if he might like to surf. Thus began a series of introductions. I took him and wheeled him around Home Depot on one of the flat lumber carts and he seemed right at home surfing the aisles. We introduced him to the surfboard in the flat water in the back bay and he has been teaching us what he wants us to do ever since. He absolutely loves it! He is the one who tells us what he wants to do. All that I do is offer him the board and he comes running and jumps on the board for another ride until he has had enough. Then he will just sit on the beach at the waterline until you figure out that he is done. It is amazing how well he has trained us. It has truly been a joy to share a love of surfing with Rocky and my sons. Honors: Mascot for the Westview High School Boys Lacrosse Team (Loves to mingle in the stands at halftime) |
