This was he letter: You may already have been contacted by Angela at the Chula Vista Animal Control regarding a golden retriever that was found as a stray on Feb 19. He is a pure breed about 3 years old. Our family found him roaming in a street close to our house, took him home and called Animal Control in hope that the owner would turn up. He had a collar but had no tags or microchip. When I went to catch him, we was a little apprehensive, but once he found out that I was no threat, he went belly up wanting all the attention we could give him. Animal Control has labeled him as non-adoptable as he attempted to bite an attendant and was put on the euthanize list. I found this out last Friday when I called Animal Control to check up on him. I have visited Animal Control daily to make sure he is not destroyed. They tell me that he can only be released to a rescue organization, though I have offered to take him back. From what we can tell, it seems like a "fear aggression" issue. We are sure with the right care and loving home, he will make a great pet. We are determined to find him such a home. We request that you visit and evaluate him to see if you can help. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Angela at the Chula Vista Animal Shelter (619) 691-5123(619) 691-5123 regarding this golden in kennel D35, or call me at the number below. Please save this beautiful animal. A rescue did say they would help release King as long as we adopted him. The shelter agreed to retest his behavior and King pasted… So King was released to us to become one of our family... King was rescued from a shelter in March of 2005. We joined the Golden Retriever Meet-up group in May of 2006. Started Surfing in April of 2007.
